The Research & Development (R & D) center of Vignana Bharathi Institute of Technology (VBIT), Hyderabad has been sanctioned a grant of Rs. 30 lakhs under the FIST (Funds for Improvement of Science & Technology infrastructure) program of DST (Department of Science and Technology), Govt. of India.
The grant has been utilized to establish a centralized computer center with high-end systems, Server and MATLAB 2016 software which are appropriate to conduct standard research in all the departments.  Research in embedded systems, artificial intelligence techniques to solve electrical distribution problems, cloud computing, data mining, image processing, etc are being carried out at this center.
Faculty members and M. Tech. students are using this center for their research and project work. VBIT is one among only three colleges within Telangana and AP which received the grant under “FIST – 2014” program of DST.
